UNICEF's Office of Innovation (based in Stockholm, Sweden) is recruiting a Programme Manager Consultant on a 12-month, full-time remote contract (Job Number: 590786) to serve as the central coordination and delivery lead for the Game Changers Coalition (GCC) — a flagship programme between UNICEF and the video game industry that builds on the Skills4Girls portfolio. The role focuses on equipping adolescent girls with coding, design, and leadership skills, increasing female representation in the gaming workforce, and bridging STEM education with digital careers. Responsibilities include multi-country and multi-stakeholder programme coordination across 20+ UNICEF Country Offices, technical assistance on gender equality and digital innovation programming, budget and timeline oversight, strategic communication, and partnership strengthening. The application deadline is 17 February 2026.
Applicants must hold an advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in International Development, International Relations, or Gender Studies — or a first university degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience is required, including proven multi-country programme management, a strong background in gender equality and girls-centred programming, and excellent technical writing and communication skills. Fluency in English is mandatory. Desirable qualifications include experience in the gaming or digital industries, country-level work in fragile or humanitarian contexts, prior UN system experience, and knowledge of another UN official language.
To apply, candidates must submit an online application via UNICEF Careers (jobs.unicef.org) along with a financial proposal using the official UNICEF template — applications without a financial proposal will not be considered. The financial proposal must be all-inclusive, covering travel costs (economy class), daily subsistence allowance, visa, and insurance where applicable. Payment is deliverables-based. Limited international travel is expected (approximately 5 days in Germany, 5 days in a GCC country such as Bolivia, Bangladesh, or Indonesia, and 3 days in Stockholm). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
